Integrity, Transparency, Commitment, Passion and Professionality. These values drive us in everything we do, both inside and outside the organisation. We’re always seeking the perfect balance in the chain, and we treat our growers, suppliers, buyers, partners and staff with respect.
Who is best-placed to tell about the work and atmosphere within an organisation? The people who work there! OTC Organics employees who work in a variety of roles have their say.
“What gives me energy at OTC is the open organisational culture and the opportunities for self-the open organisational culture and the opportunities for self-development. I started work here as a Back-office Commercial Assistant and I soon became involved in all ICT-related matters. Since 2014, I have been the contact person within our ICT department. We develop new projects arising from employees’ needs and I support them if they run into IT problems. We also optimise business processes and the IT platform. This combination makes my job really dynamic and challenging! The fruit and vegetable trade is seasonal. This means that the dynamics of the company keep changing throughout the year and no two days are the same. There is a ‘no nonsense’ working atmosphere and we have a friendly, flat organisational structure.”
“In December 2021, I started working for OTC Organics as an HR/Facility employee. My job is very varied and no two days are the same. One day I could be working on drafting employment contracts and holding interviews. The next day I could be making sure that salaries are paid on time. I enjoy my work and I learn a lot because I am involved in all aspects of the job. At OTC, the working atmosphere is informal and pleasant. That’s why I enjoy working for the company. Everyone is approachable. Another thing is that we have lunch together every day and every Friday we round off the working week by having Friday-after-work drinks together.”
“As Product Manager, I am responsible for organic limes, ginger and avocados. My job involves having a clear picture of all costs and inventories and being able to make an appropriate forecast for product availability for our customers. I have learned a great deal about the corporate fruit and vegetable world (including potatoes) and about all aspects associated with the products, for example: quality, logistics, and something I find very important, international contact with various suppliers in Latin America. I came to OTC to work as an intern during the fourth year of my studies in International food Business. In 2021, I joined the company as a Junior Buyer and I was soon promoted to Product manager. The fruit and vegetable world can sometimes be challenging, because every day is different. Luckily, I have friendly colleagues and there is a pleasant working atmosphere in which we can discuss issues with each other and, most importantly, find solutions for our customers and suppliers.”
My name is Erik and I have worked at OTC Organics since 2015. I joined the company as a Financial Assistant and I have been Team Leader Finance since the end of 2022. This progressive organisation offers its employees plenty of opportunities to develop themselves. The Financial team has four employees: everyone can be themselves, we show interest in each other, both in business and private life.I’m always happy when we work well together as a team and achieve something good together.”
In 2018, I left the textile industry for the world of organic fruit and vegetables. Although I didn’t know anything about organic fruit and vegetables, OTC Organics offered me the opportunity to contribute to the further growth of the company with my Sales & Marketing experience. I was delighted to be given this opportunity! In my experience, OTC Organics is a company with short lines of communication, an informal working atmosphere and high levels of knowledge. Due to the well-known dynamics of the fruit and vegetables world and its hectic nature, no day is ever the same for us. That keeps us all on our toes. I love it! The group lunch with colleagues is the high point of our day. We eat together, enjoy telling each other our news and round off by going out for a walk in the wooded surroundings of Dronten.
