In 2016, we organised a survey to find out about the possibilities of growing organic pumpkins in Colombia. This country turned out to be ideal for growing really delicious organic pumpkins due to the sunny climate, the rainfall during the growing season and the short transportation time.
Compared to other pumpkin varieties, organic pumpkins are harvested later when the pumpkins are fully ripe and have reached the correct Brix-value. This means that the pumpkin has a delicious, sweet flavour and it has a lovely, bright orange colour thanks to all that sunlight.
To meet the growing market demand for eco-friendly, packaging-free solutions, it is possible to have pumpkins laser-marked.
